Flash fiction – Car Wars

in-the-light

‘A million green bottles, hanging on the wall, a million ………’

‘You’re not singing that all the way to Grandma’s.’

‘Am too.’

‘Am not.’

‘Stupid baby. There’s not even a wall big enough for a million green bottles.’

‘There’s not even a wall big enough for your stupid face.’

‘That doesn’t make sense.’

‘Does too.’

‘Does not.’

‘A million green bottles, hanging on the wall, a million …………’

‘If you stop singing I’ll give you my mars bar.’

‘OK.’

‘I can’t believe we had to stop so you could throw up.’

‘You shouldn’t have given me chocolate, it was your fault.’

‘Was not.’

‘Was too…………….. A million fat sausages sizzling in a pan, one went…….’

‘Arggghhhhhhhh.’

Written for Friday Fictioneers. A 100 word story inspired by a prompt. Read the other entries here.

The first thing I noticed when I looked at this weeks photo was the green bottles. I was inspired by a family day out yesterday.  My boys had an interesting ‘debate,’ on the way home lasting almost an hour. At least they didn’t ask ‘are we nearly there yet?’
