Friday Fictioneers – The Mark

Image

I sashay across the bar licking my glossy red lips and fluffing my blonde hair. I ‘accidentally’ stumble into the hot young guy exiting the stage, giving him a good view of my ample cleavage. My mark for tonight.

“Cheating bastard” his wife had sobbed. “He will be gigging at Joe’s tonight. Get photographic evidence”.

An hour later I am confused. I am flirting outrageously, skirt getting progressively higher, but he isn’t interested. His wife hired me because I was his type. Am I losing my touch?

Backstage the old guitarist whispered to his young mistress “just a quickie tonight, old lady’s getting suspicious”.

  1. I’m not sure I’m getting this. Are the ‘hot young man’ and the ‘old guitarist backstage’ two different people? I liked the style of the narrator though, she sounds like a pretty direct individual. 🙂

    • My initial thought Sandra was the girl was paid to honeytrap the guitarist by his young wife who told her he had a thing for blondes. The woman assumes it must be the young guitarist and goes after the wrong man. Meanwhile the old musician gets away with it again. (She will assumedly report back she tried to seduce him and it didn’t work).

      Too much?

  2. some men are simply experts at this kind of thing. and considering his age, the bastard’s been doing it for years and years…
    a very enjoyable read 🙂

  3. Looks like she is a female version of Inspector Clouseau. Bumbling while trying to trap the wrong man, leaving the old man go unnoticed. Works as funny farce 🙂
